5th July 2006     Our dear friend Audrey Poignan died while in Scotland teaching us Breton music. She was 23 years old. She will live in our music forever

The Band was formed on 3rd November 2004. With not a penny to our names our fundraising started on the 6th December 2004 and by July 2005 we had raised enough money to fully equip twenty two band members.

We started the competing season on July 21st at Inverness and came 1st in Grade 4.  To our delight success continued with 2nd at the British Championships at Tain, 4th in the Open Competition in Lorient Brittany, 1st in Grade 4 and 2nd in Grade 3 at Crieff and 3rd at Cowal.

We are dedicated to learning other World and Celtic music.  We Joined forces with ‘Lo Gerbo Baudo’ a folk group from Pitlochry’s twin town Confolens from France in April.  We hosted the musicians and dancers for a week and many friendships were forged. We shared many informal music sessions and public performances and much was learned by all

The Confolens boys did manage a squeak!

Bagad Lorient  Sonerien an Oriant

We are working closely with the Pipe Major of Bagad Lorient ‘Sonerien an oriant’ A band from Brittany. The Breton bands consist of Bagpipes, Drums and Bombarde section.  We hope to share our respective music and join together in the future for competition and performances. Two of the Breton pipers and one drummer will be coming to Scotland next summer to compete with us at the World Championships.  We are currently organising practises via webcam for both bands, which should prove very interesting.
